You may have read about or know someone who has been the target of an Internet
"phishing" or "spoofing" scam. While the USAlliance website offers the best
security available, we are taking it to the next level to provide maximum
confidentiality for your personal financial information.
Our new "dual authentication" methodology, as the name implies will serve two
important purposes - help the Credit Union verify that account access is being
granted to the actual owner of the account and secondly, provide verification
to you - the member- that you have reached the USAlliance website and not that
of a hacker's.
Our new methodology requires that you register as an eBranch user, to gain
access to your accounts. During the registration process, you will:
-
create a user ID
-
create a unique password
-
select security questions and provide appropriate responses for use by the
Credit Union, should we need to authenticate your identity
-
design a personalized "symbol" which when presented assures you that you have
reached the Credit Union's website
Registration is simple - just follow the step by step instructions detailed
below. Instructions are also repeated throughout the process.
STEP 1: Create a User ID
- Your User ID must be 5 to 50 characters in length. It can contain any
combination of letters, numbers and symbols (with noted exceptions). It must
contain at least one letter. Symbols not permitted are as follows,
:"**<>().
STEP 2: Select Your Security Questions
- Select 3 unique questions from those listed and provide the appropriate
responses. Please exercise care when keying your responses as an exact match
will be required if and when your security questions are presented to you.
STEP 3: Design a Personalized
"Symbol" - Your "symbol" will be presented to you
before you log on to your account as a means for you to "authenticate" the
Credit Union's website. You will be asked to select a shape, color and word (3
to 5 letters in length) which when combined will constitute your "symbol". For
example, by selecting a triangle, the color blue and the word "dog", your
symbol will be a the word "dog" inside a blue triangle.
STEP 4: Register Your Computer
- You will have the option of registering the computer you are using to access
eBranch. Although this step is not required, registering your computer will
significantly reduce the time needed to access eBranch as the need to present
your security questions will be eliminated. If you use multiple computers to
access eBranch (i.e. home, office and laptop computers), you must register each
individually while in use.
Create/Change Password - Create a
password using 7 to 15 characters. There must be at least one upper case
letter, one lower case letter and one number in your password. Symbols or
spaces are not permitted.
