RYE, NY (June 03, 2026) - USAlliance Federal Credit Union (dba USALLIANCE Financial) today announced Brett J. Wheeler has been named President and CEO.
Wheeler brings more than two decades’ experience in the credit union industry, including nine years at the federal financial regulatory agency NCUA and nine years of service at USALLIANCE in senior executive roles, including Chief Financial Officer, and previously Interim Chief Executive Officer.
“Brett Wheeler is the right leader for this moment and for the many years ahead,” said Carla Palma, USALLIANCE Board Chair. “His industry insight, strategic vision and deep understanding of our credit union’s direction, culture, and member needs make him an exceptional choice to guide USALLIANCE into its next chapter.”
Wheeler succeeds Harry Zhu, who is departing to pursue other opportunities. The Board of Directors expressed gratitude for his many significant contributions to USALLIANCE.
During his tenure, Wheeler has played many key roles in USALLIANCE’s financial strength and strategic trajectory, overseeing the institution’s growth to more than $3.4 billion in assets. He has provided strong leadership in advancing of the credit union’s digital-first, branch-enhanced strategy, a framework designed to deliver high value back to the membership with the personalized service that members expect.
